My name is Deb and I am a Clinical Reflexology Practitioner and retired Registered Nurse. I live in Shawbury, North Shropshire with my husband and two daughters. I work from my peaceful home based treatment room in the heart of the village which is easily accessible by car or bus with ample parking space.
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists, fully insured and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. I am listed in the NHS Listing directory which is used by the public and healthcare professionals to identify high quality professional practitioners.
As a Clinical Reflexology Practitioner Level 5 I use the principles of Reflexology to promote deep relaxation and wellbeing in my clients. Reducing stress in order to build resilience is so important in managing our health and by creating bespoke treatments I can provide support alongside medical care, during pregnancy and the postnatal period, through times of stress or grief or just for a moment of calm to rest in a safe space. Reflexology is a touch therapy and by working on the feet, lower legs, hands or ears can promote better sleep, reduced tension, improved mood and much more.
Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary health therapy. It is a touch therapy that is based on the theory that different points of the feet, lower leg, hands and ears correspond with different areas of the body. During a treatment, Reflexologists work these specific points and areas.
Reflexology treatments provide a time for relaxation where the client has one-to-one attention and supportive touch in an empathetic listening environment.
Reflexology is an ancient practice originating from Egypt, India and China but made its way to Europe in the 1900’s by Dr William Fitzgerald. He introduced it as Zone Therapy which emphasized the connection between reflex areas on the hands and feet and various organs and areas of the body within the same zone. Developing this theory further and shaping the modern understanding and practice of Reflexology belongs to Eunice Ingham. She believed that congestion or tension in specific areas of the foot reflected similar conditions in corresponding parts of the body.
Reflexology provides a natural way to improve your mood and reduce the stress and tension that builds up during our busy lives. This has a positive effect on our wellbeing and helps us to feel balanced.
Reflexology can be deeply relaxing which benefits the body physically, mentally and emotionally. Carried out in a calm, tranquil space you can drift off and allow your mind and body to rest.
Reflexology treatments have been proven to improve your sleep which can have a significant impact on your health. While Reflexology cannot claim to diagnose or treat conditions it can be safely given alongside medical care to support the person and their wellbeing.
